On 10th September it's World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD). An awareness day observed on 10 September every year. WSPD aims to start the conversation about suicide and to show that suicide is preventable, not inevitable.
This is followed by World Mental Health Day on 10th October, but any day is the time to talk.
If everyone in the workplace learned how to recognise the early signs and symptoms of common workplace mental health illnesses and the warning signs for suicide, and how to talk to a workmate about it then we could better support each other. If you're concerned about someone at work, start by asking if they're OK.
Your physical and mental welling is important, we have both physical and mental health first aiders across the business. Over the next few months we’re increasing the number of workplace Mental Health First Aiders (MHFAs) at CWR. The MHFAs are trained to act as a first point of contact for people to talk and receive support and guidance relating to their mental health.
Your mind matters, your mental health is important every day.
